Burbank Community YMCA

Annual Support

THE GOAL: EVERYONE GIVES A $95 GIFT

Ninety-five years ago local citizens established the Burbank Community YMCA because they understood the need for a non-profit, community-serving organization in the heart of the city. Now, nearly a century later, the Burbank Y serves almost 12% of the population and works tirelessly to nurture the potential of kids and improve health & well being for all ages.

But we can’t do all that we do without donations. It’s donations that insure that everyone can benefit from the Y, regardless of age, income or background. Please contribute and when you do, know that every dollar you give stays local and makes a real difference in this community.

The Y: For a better you. For a better community. For a better us.

2019 CASES FOR SUPPORT

We are excited to be planning our sixth season of Learn, Grow, Thrive. The program is designed to help underserved children enter school every fall ready to learn at or above their grade level, while also making sure they have a fun, enriching summer. It is a six-week, full-day academic and enrichment program, offered at no cost to qualifying families. Taught by credentialed teachers in conjunction with YMCA enrichment counselors, the program is designed to mitigate summer learning loss, curb negative social behaviors and help children gain the skills they need to succeed in school and be ready for advanced education and/or a rewarding career.

GOAL: Continue to provide summer learning in order to help close the Achievement Gap for low income youth

We bring people together from diverse backgrounds and support to those who need us most by providing members with financial assistance, regardless of their age, income, or background. We are always expanding successful programs to reach more people with a focus on the most vulnerable. Our doors are open to all. We must continue to provide financial assistance for the hundreds of community members who otherwise could not afford to participate in Y activities.

GOAL: Never turn anyone away for inability to pay for membership.

We are working continuously to refurbish and upgrade our facility so that it will remain in good condition.

GOAL: New paint, lockers and flooring in all four locker rooms.
