Journey introduces youngsters to what camp is all about! This is the perfect camp for children who will be starting kindergarten in the fall. There are a wide variety of enrichment activities, field trips and active play options each day. Campers will go swimming twice a week and go on up to two field trips. Field trips range from hands-on experiences such as Kidspace and Discovery Cube to active trips like Underwood Family Farm and the Aquarium of the Pacific.

Voyager is designed with the younger camper in mind. Activities focus on each camper's physical, emotional, cognitive and social development and include arts & crafts, imaginative play and twice-a-week swimming, as well as a wide variety of field trips. With educational trips such as the California Science Center and the LA Zoo to unique experiences such as music and art workshops at the Hollywood Bowl and a visit to a real working farm, campers are sure to have a summer they will not soon forget!

Discovery focuses on teaching children through fun, creativity and active play. Daily physical games help promote fitness while arts & crafts stimulate the imagination. Campers will attend trips that vary from learning about how movies are made at Universal Studios, Huntington Library, exploring our history at various museums, and enjoying the water at Hurricane Harbor. Each week has two or three field trips planned, as well as two days of swimming.

Explorer gives older school-aged youngsters a chance to spread their wings and experience new adventures. Opportunities are offered for campers to make their own choices. Exciting trips such as the Grammy Museum, Knott's Berry Farm, a Sparks Game, and Universal Studios are offered, in addition to some new trips such as the Arboretum and a visit to the Hollywood Sports Park. Each week has ?two or three field trips planned, as well as two days of swimming.

Adventure offers a more challenging range of activities for our oldest campers. Campers get to go on an overnight experience to San Diego, enjoy an evening campout at a local beach and attend our Disneyland/California Adventure overnight event—complete with Disney's Leadership in Action program. In addition, daily trips to places like Raging Waters, Magic Mountain and the new BROAD Museum are part of this thrilling camp. We will also be going to Adventure Plex, Soak City, various museums and more. A unique feature is that campers assist in the planning of activities and Friday field trips.

In addition to our regular day camp sessions, we also offer 6 different summer camps for special interests. The specialty camps run from 9am-3pm and offer an extended care option that allows parents to drop off as early as 7am and pick up as late as 6:30pm. Extended care hours for our Basketball Camp is 8am-5pm. Various activities are provided before & after the specialty program's hours to keep children engaged throughout the day. Cost for extended care is an additional $50 per week. Note: Specialty camp schedules and locations are subject to change and a camp may be canceled if there is insufficient enrollment. Cancellation is rare but, if it should happen, campers have the option of switching to our regular day camp program.

This camp shows how to create animated stories and games with the scratch programming language.  Scratch programs are made up of simple “blocks” of code that you can drag and drop into position.  You will also learn how to create avatars and background images.  By the end of the class, you will understand key Computer Science concepts and have your own game portfolio. Held at Woodbury University

Calling fashionista girls and boys! Explore the excitement and fun of fashion as participants are given samplings of everything to do with fashion. Fashion sketching. Paint on fabric. T-shirt de-construction. Crafts. Hand-sewing. Embroidery. Machine-sewing. Fashion show. Adobe digital skills. Held at Woodbury University.

Session Dates: June 25-July 13 (3 weeks)

Cost: $260 per week

As a team, participants will develop a concept for a mural that they will paint at a local middle school.  This camp includes basic drawing and painting techniques, lessons in preparing artwork for large-scale installation, and finally, painting the design on exterior of a building.  Come and be involved with an art experience few people get to do! Held at Woodbury University.

Session Dates: July 16-August 3 (3 weeks)

Cost: $260 per week

This youth program is taught by architects and designers at Woodbury University's School of Architecture. Students will be working in the computer lab, experimenting with 3-D printing and laser cutting, and learning about architecture through traditional and digital hand drawing and model making exercises. It's an engaging and inventive camp that increases creative thinking and hands-on development. We will also be going on a field trip to learn more about design and art. Held at Woodbury University.

Showcase Basketball & the Burbank YMCA will be hosting FOUR camps this summer! The Showcase Basketball Skills Camp provides a fun and positive setting for basketball development. From shooting, passing, dribbling, to defense and footwork, every participant will be able to improve their skills and have a fantastic experience. Held at the Burbank Community YMCA.

Has your camper always wanted to live in the world of their favorite storybook wizard? Want to learn about magic, elves, and mythical creatures? This is the perfect camp for all campers who want to spend the week learning about the history of magical schools and the wizards who inhabit them. Campers will be placed in their wizarding houses, and house competitions will take place on our wizard field. Campers will also make their own wands, hunt for mystical treasures and learn the importance of working together. Plus, a trip to Universal Studios is included! Held at Brace Canyon Park.

Learn, Grow, Thrive is a special, no-cost summer learning program that helps children catch up, stay on track or get ahead on their reading and math skills while providing summer camp fun! To qualify, children must be on free or reduced lunch program and score below grade level at their school.

Lessons focus on vocabulary, spelling, grammar, reading, writing and math are provided by credentialed teachers of the Burbank Unified School District. Activities conducted by the Y include swimming, arts & crafts, camp songs, outdoor games and exciting filed trips. And through all, an emphasis is placed on character values, healthy eating and physical activity.

All camps require a $50 enrollment fee per camper due upon registration. Also, a $50 non-refundable deposit per week is due upon registration.

All campers must wear our official YMCA summer day camp t-shirt each day they attend camp to ensure the optimum level of identification, supervision and safety. Camp t-shirts are $12 each.
