Objectives & Values

The Junior Lakers Program is sponsored and supported by the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Sparks. Over 30,000 kids participate in 31 different YMCA's around Los Angeles.

Our basketball program for boys and girls incorporates the Six Pillars of Character to encourage sportsmanship and develop kids of character. The goal of the YMCA Junior Lakers Basketball League is to teach fundamental basketball skills and to provide same age-group competition in an atmosphere that teaches values, fair play, teamwork and sportsmanship. League participants will receive individual instruction in shooting, passing, dribbling and rebounding. This program has three seasons: Spring, Summer, Winter.

Volunteers

The Burbank Community YMCA Junior Lakers basketball program is a quality program because of our volunteers! Please contact Tomik Iranosian, Sports Director at 818.845-8551 if you are interested in being involved in the Junior Lakers Program.
