Parking & Street Closings
Free parking is available at the Burbank Town Center mall located directly across from the Y at the corner (access the parking area on Cypress Street.)
Note that the following streets will be closed from 6am until 12 noon on race day:
Olive Avenue between Glenoaks and San Fernando Road
Third Street between Angeleno and San Jose
Magnolia Boulevard between First Street and Glenoaks
San Jose between Glenoaks and Third
Q: Is there a different cost for the 5K and 10K events?
No, the cost is the same for the 5k and 10k race.
Q: Can I walk the 5/10K course?
Please note that the 10K is for competitive runners only. If you would like to walk, please register for the 5K. We ask that families and walkers please respect the competitive runners and start further back from the finish line.
Q: Do the shirts come in Women's and children's sizes?
The runners' shirts only come in adult men sizes (unisex). Women and youth should order a size down. Please note we cannot guarantee size-availability. If shirt size is important to you, we recommend attending packet pick-up.
Q: What do the proceeds from the Turkey Trot benefit?
Proceeds from the Turkey Trot benefit the Burbank Community YMCA's membership assistance program. These funds enable people who otherwise might not afford it to participate in Y programs. Sponsors and participants help the YMCA say "yes!" to those in need. The Burbank Community YMCA is a non-profit 501(c)3 cause driven organization.
Q: Can I get a refund?
Sorry, no refunds can be issued for any reason other than multiple registration errors. Your donation is appreciated!
Q: What time should I arrive on the day of the race?
If you are not pre-registered, day of registration opens at 6:00 am and we recommend arriving by 6:30 am. Registration closes when the 10K begins at 7:30am. Arrive before 7:30 am for day-of Kiddie Run registration! The expo opens at 6:30 am so whether pre-registered or not, arrive early to enjoy the expo, kids zone, warm-ups and announcements.
Q: Is the "Kiddie Run" a separate event or distance?
The Kiddie Run is a separate event for children age 9 and under. It starts an hour and a half after the start of the 5K/10K at a time when most participants have completed the course. The entry fee for the Kiddie Run is $20 per runner. This is not a competitive or timed event.
Q: Can parents walk with their kids during the Kiddie Run? If the parent is NOT doing the 5K run/walk, do they still need to pay $20 if they only participate in the Kiddie Run with the child?
Parents are welcome to walk with their child(ren) registered in the Kiddie Run. Parents do not need to pay for their own registration. Please note that shirts and prizes are only for the registered children in this event. We do request that parents complete an entry form if they did not participate in the 5k or 10K because we need to have a signed release form from everyone who is on the course.
Q: Is child care available during the race?
Unfortunately due to the high volume of participants, the Y is not able to offer child care during the Turkey Trot.
Q: What if it rains? Will you still have the Turkey Trot?
Whatever weather, the Turkey Trot will go on.
Q: Is there assistance available if I can't complete the whole course?
Yes, we have paramedics, radio operators and volunteers patrolling the course. If you need assistance, just ask a volunteer for help. We also have water stops located on the course.
Q: My child is under 9, can s/he participate in the 5K Run instead of the Kiddie Run?
Yes, younger runners are encouraged to participate in the 5K as long as they are accompanied by their parent or guardian. Many kids find the 5K more age appropriate before actually reaching the age limit for the Kiddie Run. We ask that families and walkers please respect the competitive runners and start further back from the finish line.
Q: Are baby strollers allowed?
Absolutely! We just ask people with strollers, along with other walkers, to respect the competitive runners and start further back from the starting line. You are invited to register your child so he or she can have an official number and an adult race shirt to give to Mom or Dad.
Q: Do I have to pay for my child to ride in a stroller in the 5K walk? I am paying the adult fee for myself.
No, children in strollers are free. However, every person, no matter what age, MUST HAVE SIGNED A RELEASE FORM to be on the course. Sorry, children who have not registered or paid an entry fee will not receive a t-shirt.
Q: Are dogs allowed?
Yes, dogs on leashes are welcome to Trot with their owners! We just ask that participants with pets respect the competitive runners by starting towards the back of the pack.
Q: Can someone else pick up my registration packet?
Yes. The person picking up the registration packet(s) will need the participant's name.
Q: Do I have to be chip-timed?
Yes, the timing chip will be embedded in your runner number. Every participant is required to wear their bib on the course. The cost of being timed is included in your registration fee.
Q: Can I use my own chip for timing?
No. All chips are assigned to bib numbers prior to the race.
Q: Are there concessions available at the Y's Turkey Trot?
The Turkey Trot provides water, coffee and fruit for our participants at no charge. Other vendors and sponsors often provide additional complimentary refreshments such as granola bars and yogurt.
Q: Is skating or cycling allowed?
No, because they travel at a higher speed, for the safety of others, rollerblades, heelies, roller skates, scooters, bicycles and all other wheeled vehicles are not allowed.
Finish Line Photos: Everyone who pre-registered for the Turkey Trot should have received an email with a link to the finish line photos and a downloadable completion certificate that displays their personal timing and rank. If for some reason you didn't get the email, just click

Race Results: Anyone can access Racewire
here to search for photos by bib number or name and to check final race results. (There may be a few discrepancies between the results that were posted right after the race and the final results because some people changed which event (5K or 10K) they were participating in and those changes could not be entered until after the race.
